"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn"
~ Benjamin Franklin
In previous years my learning experiences were predominately in-person, or traditional. In the ISDT learning design and model is very different and requires more attention in my opinion. Remote learning and design is an art. I have certainly learned that by now. The teacher must ensure the pupil learns at a capacity that is satisfactory. If the teacher has not accomplished this then the teacher has failed. We must take it upon ourselves the provide as much energy, attention, and accommodations necessary to ensure future generations of students learn at a at an acceptable rating. I am a constructivist by trade, but have learned how to learn in a collaborative and even hybrid learning environment.
I will take with me the knowledge, education, tool use, and determination set forth by the ISDT program here at Sam Houston University, and I will...
- Exercise pedagogical techniques in my business
- Determine type of setting and educational method of teaching (in-person or remote)
- Understand that design is constantly changing for the application and modification may be deemed necessary
- Use a needs analysis, as well as other assessment tools needed, when editing content, standard operating procedures (SOP's), or other guidelines set forth or required by the stakeholder, or client
- I have also used this gained knowledge to create Electronic Press Kits (EPK's) in my line of business. An EPK is a collection of materials used to promote a project, an artist, or band. EPKs are often used by many musicians, or artists, to promote their work to industry professionals and potential fans. They can also be used by filmmakers to promote a TV or film project. Below is a short video that I had created for my business, Lights Out Production Company, and also an EPK that I had created for a country music artist.
