"The measure of a life is its service."

~ Sam Houston

Scholarly service should be extensively active and provided in research, as well as educational settings, and should be ongoing.   Service can exist under a large umbrella of entities including scholarly organizations, communities, and educational institutions.

I am currently a lifetime member of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).  I plan on attending some AECT conferences very soon.  I also am a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR).  This organization houses some of the finest business leaders, entrepreneurs, scholarly figures, and involves itself with widespread communities, as well as educational institutions, familiarizing folks with agricultural, industrial, and various other topics.  I have served on the Industrial Crafts Committee (ICC) for HLSR.  It is a great educational organization, in its own, and also is always proud to display our southern heritage.

I also have enjoyed serving in my internship through the SHSU ISDT program.   I served an internship with a marketing company, Retail Sports Marketing (RSM), and although not compensated, I learned much valuable experience, knowledge, and education that I can continually apply to my business and education.   I was required to write a summarized paper of what I had learned and done in the internship at the end of the semester.  Chief marketing officer of RSM, Michael Tejeda, signed on behalf of his receipt of the document, as well as the work performed in the internship.

In October of 2024 I will be conducting a presentation on how to design an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) at a conference held by The American Federation of Musicians local union 433 located in Austin, TX!
